About Chantal

Chantal has over 20 years experience in retail including museum shops, galleries and high end fashion boutiques. Chantal’s extensive experience encompasses all facets of retailing including branding and marketing strategies, product procurement and development, management and operations and sales strategies.

Notable cultural organisations she has worked with include: The Anzac Memorial, Hyde Park Sydney; The Historic Houses Trust of NSW and Object: the Australian Centre for Craft and Design.

Through her work at Object and The Historic Houses Trust, Chantal has developed a thorough understanding of how to successfully promote the museological objectives of cultural institutions through their retail offering.

Chantal has a strong working knowledge of how to maximise retail spaces and enhance your customers experience. She has consulted on the design of several new retail spaces as well as the refurbishment and re-branding of existing stores, resulting in spaces that utilise proven buyer behaviour to increase sales and better brand represent the brand.

Chantal holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Object Design which empowers her to conceptualise and design unique merchandise lines that promote your brand and provide your customers with quality lasting mementos of their visit and as well promote return local patronage.

Chantal’s experience is not limited to large scale spaces and events, she has also created retail solutions for small spaces which have delivered exceptional trading results. Despite a small footprint, the retail store she developed for the Anzac Memorial has outperformed sales results of comparative memorials by 825% (based on average spend per visitor).

Through new merchandise offerings and initiatives implemented while working with The Historic Houses Trust, sales and gross revenue increased by 433% for some properties. Her ability to forecast consumer trends and understanding of buyer behaviour saw sales increase across all HHT properties under her management notably including The Museum of Sydney, Hyde Park Barracks, Rose Seilder House, Rouse Hill House and Farm and Government House.
